There are of course parents who will sneer at such a device as the Boots Baby Swim Seat, but for some families they are vital.

The seat allows a baby to float and enjoy the water next to an adult who may not be a very confident swimmer, or have their hands full with an older child.

For a parent or carer who can only take their children swimming alone they are brilliant. If you have to assist an older child quickly or wade into deeper water, these seats will keep the supervised baby safe next to you.

Whilst yes, keen swimmers can take their baby to baby swimming lessons, for some families the finance or practicality just isn’t there. The Boots Baby Swim Seat is great for mothers and babies to gradually build confidence in water together.

The Boots swim seat also has a useful pair of handles that other swim seats don’t have. This makes it easier to carry to, from and in the pool as needed.

For young babies, these seats are also perfect for helping parents to get dry and changed after swimming. You can pop them on the floor and put a towel over the seat and use it as a reasonably safe place to keep a non-crawling baby whilst you sort out yourself or other children.

As the four-year-old is over confident in water but not able to swim, I found this seat fantastic for knowing my baby was next to me whilst I pulled him away from the exciting water feature areas for older children. I probably couldn’t have gone swimming without it.”
