Chopsy Baby is reviewing… High performance UV swimwear for children at BabiesInSheepsClothing

Chopsy Baby Says: “A fantastic swimsuit that will last for younger siblings.”

Rating: 10/10

There has been much written in recent times about the importance of children getting enough Vitamin D from the sun. Successful sun safe campaigns have been urging parents to cover their children up and slather them in high SPF suncream. Cases of rickets have started to emerge from within families of overly cautious parents. Getting a good balance of safe and healthy when it comes to days out on the beach is important.

Babies in Sheep’s Clothing source and locate high quality clothing that will stand the test of time. Their new line of swimwear is both stylish, practical and safe.

For long days on the beach, whether it be windy Weston or bohemian Brighton, their Little Red Fish nautical sun protection swim suits are perfect.

The suits are constructed in New Zealand and offer a sun protection factor of UPF 50+.

Little Red Fish claims the fabric offers up to 4.5 times the chlorine resistance of ordinary elastane and is also mildew resistant.

The suit is made of Polymide, Elastane and Nylon and is hand wash only. You can certainly feel the difference between this suit and ones you may find in supermarkets. It feels very cool to the touch and the quality is very apparent in the fabric, stitching and fit.
There are no baggy areas around the tops of the legs for wet skin to rub together as the suit fits perfectly to the body.

It washes well, neither losing its shape or texture. The stitching holds firm under pressure and the fabric doesn’t look tired or faded after multiple use and washes.

Babies in Sheeps Clothing say on their website that they sell products capable of being passed down to siblings. This is certainly true. This swimsuit, though more expensive than supermarket or high street alternatives is likely to last a good three siblings and then go off to cousins, eBay or charity.

This all in one comes to the elbows on the arms and knees on the legs, still allowing for skin to access the sun for that Vitamin D.

Available in classic nautical red and white or blue and white stripes and sizes from birth to four years of age.
