Chopsy Baby is reviewing… mini clubs’ Factor 50+ Sunsafe Swimwear

With the temperatures due to surge again, mini club swimwear must top the list of summer essentials parents need in preparation. The collection is designed to be practical and stylish, offering the best possible protection from the sun.

The garments are made with an in-built 40+UPF – ultraviolet protection factor – fabric, meaning that additional sun cream on the areas it covers is not necessary.

The swimwear collection is available for children aged from birth to six years of age.

The aquamarine blue stripy costume sports a fun fish detail and the pink two-piece features a bird.

The mini club sun safe collection, is quality swimwear that will protect your child all through the summer. It is well-made, an excellent fit for the sizes marked and can be worn all day without soreness or skin irritation developing.

In the swimming pool
Subjected to a week of swimming pool chlorine, the swimwear washed well, was not affected by the chemical and still looked as good as new.

The one-piece swim suit is perfect for both boys and girls of all ages providing a modest cover for children, without riding up, or exposing areas your local paedophile would be interested in.

Children will need some help to undo the top when they need to go to the toilet.

The two-piece in pink is great for being able to change nappies without having to take off the entire swimsuit. Despite being separate top and bottom, the suit didn’t expose any skin around the tummy.

On the beach
The swimwear is perfect for the beach. It offers an all over protection and we found no need to apply any additional sun cream as long as the risks were monitored. The length of the costume stopped sand from getting inside rubbing on skin. Because it was long legged, it avoided chaffing or digging into any delicate areas of skin.

It is very quick to dry. On day outs to the beach, it was suitable to wear under shorts and T-shirt on the train journey, continue to wear on the beach, and leave it under the t-shirt and shorts for the journey home. It cuts down on carrying excess changes of clothes for each time your little one makes the fast dash back to the sea again.

The children testing the swimwear could both be considered to have delicate skin due to age or eczema. But, the fabric did not make either child’s skin itchy, hot, sweaty or cause rash.

Sand did not become ingrained in the fabric and the swimwear is easy to wash.

In the garden
The swim suits are great for warm days in the garden, when children are jumping in and out of paddling pools. It is also ideal for keeping in the bag for when your children visit places such as Bristol Zoo or Hengrove Park in Bristol, both of which have great water play areas.

Best of all…
The suits wash well, fit well and work well. Proven protection in our beach tests and top marks for practicality.

Could improve…

Basically…
