Chopsy Baby is reviewing… The Mookie Tailball
The Mookie Tailball is a bat and ball game with a difference. Instead of a clumsy heavy tennis ball to smash the neighbour’s greenhouse, or a small plastic ball for the dog to choke on, the Tailball is a light aerodynamic foam shuttle with tails.
The Tailball streamers – much like ribbons – are designed to slow and stabilise flight.
The Light pack comes with two 150g Checkerbats and one 12g Tailball inside its own moulded container.
Suitable for children aged three years upwards.

On first glance it would be easy to dismiss the Tailball as a bit of a novelty to clutter up the garden shed after an hour. But this toy is so much better than that. It can be played almost anywhere – in the garden, on the beach or even in a large space indoors. This is because the Tailball itself is very light and can be hit from one person to another very lightly or very hard. This makes the game completely adaptable and suitable wherever you play it.
It is also perfect for young children from around the age of four. Not only is it a fun game, but it quite clearly helps them develop their coordination. The Tailball is light enough for youngsters to hit unlike a ball which is heavier and harder to control on bats.
Jen Smith tested out the Tailball Light with four-year-old Sid
Jen says: “I am genuinely surprised the Tailball set is this good. It has been really popular with Sid who has become determined to master it.
“I am also really pleased that the Tailball does not seem to sail across the garden fence. It is light to serve but slow in flight making it easy for youngsters to control.”
Best of all…
Really does help children develop their coordination.
Could improve…
Nothing to improve but watch the Tailball around babies and toddlers. It is made of foam and chunks can be eaten.
Basically…
A great game to play with family and friends.
