City conference meets to safeguard Bristol children

An annual conference to look at how professionals can work with families to improve child protection will be taking part in Bristol this week.

The Bristol Safeguarding Children Board and Bristol Safeguarding Adults Board will be meeting on Thursday 26 May.

Professionals working with families in the city will be able to discuss how they can be more alert to children and vulnerable adults who could be at risk of abuse or neglect.

Workshops will also tackle topics such as understanding parents with learning difficulties, forced marriage and the Bristol Family Intervention Project.

Chair of the Bristol Safeguarding Adults Board, Alison Comley, said: “By taking a joined up approach, we are improving outcomes for all. I look forward to continued close working with colleagues in a range of partner organisations, working to protect both adults and children at risk of harm from abuse in Bristol.”
