The first six months of a baby’s nutrition is easy, it’s non stop milk. Once a baby reaches six months old, it’s time for mum to start weaning the baby on to solid food.

Step in Annabel Karmel, whose stalwart attempts to help mums make the transition from milk to healthy eating netted her a very well deserved MBE in June 2006, for her outstanding work in the field of child nutrition.

Through her easy cookery and nutrition books nestling in family kitchens across the UK, she guides parents through baby and toddler feeding in a no culinary skills necessary way, helping mums put together nutritious meals suitable for each stage of a baby’s development.

Annabel herself is a busy working mother of three children. Her first hand experience of the difficulties in feeding young children is likely to be the reason behind her successful approach. She firmly believes that children are less likely to become fussy eaters if they get used to a good range of fresh food from the beginning.

Annabel now has no less than 15 best-selling books on baby and toddler nutrition and writes for a wide range of magazines, newspapers and appears regularly on radio and television.

For those parents who just can’t get on with a cookery book, or would like more information, Annabel now has her own YouTube channel where she takes parents through several of her popular recipes and explains how to get babies eating well.
