Couples take to separate rooms after childbirth to get a night’s sleep
Dealing with the demands of a new baby, causes 31 per cent of new parents to sleep in separate bedrooms.
In an effort to get a full night’s sleep, new mums said their partners moved into another room at night.
One in ten said this occurred all the time.
The findings come from BabyCentre, who surveyed 1,000 mums with young children.
Mums said that lack of sleep was a serious problem for them, with 46 per cent surviving on less than six hours sleep every night.
Three out of four women would rather give up having sex for a full night’s sleep.
Spokesperson for BabyCentre, Sasha Miller says: “This survey highlights the incredible demands that parenthood places on new mums and it’s essential that they get the support they need.”
