This show took classic tales including the Frog Prince, The Golden Goose and Snow White and the Seven Dwarves running in at an hour with no interval.

The Creaking Door actors are excellent at building up a rapport with the young audience before and during the show, and at times the children take active roles in the productions.

The basis of the show was all about good old fashioned story telling. The writing was accessible and full of humour that was great for both children and adults, without resorting to the smutty jokes committed by many children’s theatre productions.

The beauty of the venue meant that the audience were right up in the thick of the action, the only difficulty this presents is holding back an over active toddler who wants to join in.

Creaking Door Productions are a real must see. They produce cracking shows that enthral and entertain their young audiences.

Chopsy Baby hope they return with some more half hour Courtyard Capers this summer, as younger children who have shorter attention spans really do benefit from their fun shows.
