Cut violent crime and keep us safe! kids demand more from Prime Minister

A new report reveals a shocking insight in to daily fears of children and the environment they live in.

Children are growing up worrying about being involved in violent crime, and are too scared to play in parks and walk to school for fear of becoming victims of attack.

The new research by Intuitive Media, reveals that children want the Prime Minister to step in and make the country safer for them to grow up. They want to feel safe whilst out and about and in play areas.

One clever suggestion was an emergency number they could call anytime they felt unsafe.

Children said if they felt the streets were a safer place to be then a huge 83 per cent of them would walk to school everyday.

Parks were considered no-go areas, and if crime was eradicated then 78 per cent of them would want to go back to play in them.

The current climate of fear surrounding knives and guns has also not gone unnoticed, with 75 per cent of children wanting the government to step in and take action to stop it.

The biggest concern to children was violence and street crime, and more than half worried about their parents getting divorced.

The recession did not go unnoticed with 40 per cent worrying about being poor.

The report found that children’s online behaviour was also putting them at risk, with more than a third using computers alone in their room and 15 per cent giving out personal details.
