Don’t miss today’s deadline for protecting your photographs
Today is the deadline for opposing contentious clauses in the proposed Digital Economy Bill (DEB).
The Stop43 campaign, has been aiming to remove clause 43 from the DEB which, should it be allowed to go ahead will affect the law on Copyright.
The DEB is most know for its proposals to disconnect illegal file sharers from the internet.
Lesser known proposals covered by clause 43 will mean that illustrations, writing and photographs that until now could not be used without asking for the owner’s permission, may be used commercially by paying an arbitrary fee to a UK Government appointed licensing body.
