Doris the Pliosaurus at Bristol Museum Opening Day – Brand New Exhibition at Bristol Museum
There’s a staggeringly brilliant new multi-sensory exhibition now open at Bristol Museum and Art Gallery on Park Street, Bristol.
It’s aimed at children aged between 3 and 11 years of age and gives them the chance to come up close to Doris. Who is #DeadlyDoris? She’s an eight metre long recreation of a Pliosaurus, one of Bristol’s early Jurassic creatures.
As well as being able to walk around the creature, visitors will also be able to see the actual fossil which was discovered in Westbury, Wiltshire in 1994.
The whole exhibition is very hands on with a range of interactive experiences which have been perfectly designed for all children and different ways of learning.
There are of course the touch screen exhibits, bits to climb in, dressing up, puppets and lovely sea projections on the wall.
One thing Bristol excels at is culture, art and of course its perfect museums. Here’s another example of something Bristol gets so right.
This exhibition is open from 17 June 2017 until 07 January 2018. It’s a must see for families with children of all ages.
