Enid Blyton’s Magic Faraway Tree To Be Made Into A Film
Enid Blyton’s much loved story Magic Faraway Tree is to be made into a film.
It’s the first time a film will have tackled the Faraway tree series written between 1939 and 1951. Blyton wrote four novels following a group of children who discover a tree leading to different lands – The Enchanted Wood, The Magic Faraway Tree, The Fold of the Faraway Tree and Up the Faraway Tree.
Studiocanal are working with Neal Street Production and popular Paddington 2 writer Simon Farnaby to create the adaptation.
Writer Simon Farnaby knows how loved the timeless stories are saying: “The Magic Faraway Tree books are a firework display of the imagination. The pages are lit up with wonderful characters, humour, peril and adventure. Most homes have a well worn jam fingerprinted volume somewhere on their shelves. I’m very much looking forward to bringing the likes of the Old Saucepan Man and Dame Washalot to the big screen for fans both old and new.”
