Families urged to find out about services libraries now offer them
Bristol families are being urged to visit their local library to find out what’s on offer for them.
From now until Monday 04 April, Bristol libraries are running ‘Get More From Your library’ to inform local people about the different services that libraries run.
A recent MORI survey discovered that people across the UK were unaware of what services libraries now offered.
Head of Bristol Libraries, Kate Murray said: ‘People think libraries are just about books, but nowadays libraries offer so much more.
“You can now use the library to pay council bills online, attend a sing-along session with your toddler, trace your ancestors, surf the internet, borrow CDs, DVDS and Nintendo Wii games or even study for a course. Our aim of the ‘Get More From Your Library’ initiative is to encourage people who aren’t regular users to come in and find out more. And it’s so easy to join the library and access all the benefits on offer.”
