Find out how clean your sea water is

Bathing water in the South West is undergoing testing to find out exactly what quality of water people are paddling in.

The Environment Agency are taking samples from 193 locations on the coasts of Cornwall, Devon, Dorset and Somerset.

The tests will be taking place between now and September, with the results being made public.

Last year, 99 per cent of bathing waters in the South West passed quality standards.

Environment Agency spokesperson, Jonathan Pointing says: “Bathing water quality is at an all time high but there is more work to do to drive further improvements. We are working hard with water companies, local authorities and farmers to identify and tackle sources of pollution at all bathing sites.”
