Gardening is the memory adults look back on with greatest fondess

Our teeny tiny court yard gardens and first floor flats, must be some of the reasons behind the declining interest in gardening.

But according to research by QVC, it tops to list of UK adult’s best childhood memories.

Surprisingly in only second place is going to the sea side and even before going on holiday, the end of the school term came in third place.

It’s unlikely that today’s children will be looking back in such fondness for gardening in the future considering 8 per cent believe flowers are made in supermarkets and at least one in ten adults being unable to identify a conker.
