Jamie Redknapp Lends Support to Prostate Cancer UK’s March for Men Bristol Event

Former pro footballer turned pundit and Burton Menswear model Jamie Redknapp, is lending his voice and backing to Prostate Cancer UK’s March for Men event, which will be taking place in the city this summer.

The event is aiming to raise awareness and funds to help stop men dying from prostate cancer. Sponsored walking events will also be taking place in Liverpool, Manchester and Nottingham, Glasgow, Leeds, and London.

The Bristol March for Men, will be taking place on Sunday 17 June 2018 at Blaise Castle Estate. The route is fully accessible for wheelchairs and pushchairs with 2k, 5k, or 10k circular walks mapped out. Everyone taking part will receive a t-shirt and medal.

Prostate cancer is now the third biggest cancer killer in the UK. Statistics show that it kills one man every 45 minutes, with an average of 87 men a year dying from the condition in Bristol.

Burton menswear in Cabot Circus will be promoting the event in store with flyers, posters and badges. They are aiming to get their customers thinking about the cancer and sign up to help raise funds to support research and treatment.

“To hear that prostate cancer is now the third biggest cancer killer and that one man dies every 45 minutes from the disease is shocking,” Jamie said. “So, it’s an honour to be involved in Burton’s partnership with Prostate Cancer UK and to support the fantastic March for Men events across the UK this summer. As well as raising funds, this is a great way to raise awareness of prostate cancer too, and start conversations about men’s health.”
