Late parents will be speeding to school today
Parents out of the habit of getting their child to school in the mornings will be making the roads a dangerous place.
With schools reopening for the new academic year today, 15 per cent of parents will sail through amber traffic lights, 13 per cent will park illegally, 8 per cent will forget to buckle children’s seat belts, 24 per cent will exceed the legal speed limit and a badly organised 57 per cent of parents will forget important items such as lunch boxes
The findings come from the Post Office, whose Head of Car Insurance, Gerry Barrett, said: “Parents are often up against it in the morning and getting back into the swing of the school routine after the long summer break can make that even more of a challenge. Mums and dads must put safety first and build enough time into their mornings to make the drive as safe and stress-free as possible.”
