Lazy Holiday Makers Dump Giant Inflatables at Hotels Instead of Bringing Them Home
It looks a lot like where emojis go when they die, except it isn’t. It’s Majorca which is drowning under discarded inflatables which have been dumped at the end of a family holiday by those with money to burn.
According to a poll of 2000 people by Hotels.com, nearly half purchased inflatables to take on holiday, but only 28 per cent took them home again.
From Hotels.com, Isabelle Pinson said: “We’ve teamed up with the Hipotels Gran Playa de Palma to set up an inflatable sanctuary, where guests can adopt and re-use left behind inflatables, giving them a new lease of life.”
Families on holiday at the hotel will be able to use and keep abandoned inflatables during the next three months.
Doughnut inflatables were this years shape of choice, followed by the traditional lilo and crocodiles in third place.
OnePoll found the top three items left behind in holiday destinations were sun cream, inflatables and sun glasses.
Don’t worry guys, the planet doesn’t mind the additional lazy waste.
