More snow due to hit UK Sunday night and into Monday

The Met Office has just announced that further heavy snow is likely to disrupt the UK over Sunday and Monday.

The snow will be heaviest in the North East of England and Scotland.

But icy conditions will remain across the UK with around 2-3 cm of snow possibly affecting areas in the South West

Met Office Chief Forecaster, Martin Young said: “Many parts will stay icy over the next few days, and there is the continuing risk of some snow at times almost anywhere. The heaviest snow, however, is expected across parts of eastern England and eastern Scotland through Sunday night and Monday, bringing the risk of disruption in some areas.

“Everyone should keep up to date with the latest weather information and plan ahead for possible travel delays and disruption to transport during this spell of wintry weather.”
