Neighbours ditched in favour of online communities

Mothers are increasingly turning away from chatting to their neighbours and turning to online communities instead.

Whilst 58 per cent of UK residents think that the traditional sense of community has been lost, 41 per cent are now turning to new technologies to replace cups of tea over the garden fence.

The research from LG found that the rise of social networking, meeting like minded people on the internet and the benefit of getting 24 hour advice from online friends has seen the importance of communities decline.
