New Bristol Police Station to be Based at Southmead Hospital

A new permanent police station will be based at Southmead Hospital, offering the public a new enquiry office and base for the local beat team.

The temporary Southmead station will remain at the Fire Station until the new station is ready to open.

Westgate House is on the Southmead Road entrance to the hospital and is expected to opened in the autumn once the refurbishment to the building is completed.

“We are delighted to have a new home in Southmead, only a short distance from the old police station,” Inspector Rob Cheeseman said.

“We have always been committed to keeping a police station in Southmead; it is important that our local officers and PCSOs are based in the community they serve.”
