New sponsor will be bliss for parents of premature babies

A special care baby charity will be getting an extra cash boost thanks to finding a new sponsor for their parent information packs.

Charity Bliss, has been working since 1979 to make sure that premature and sick babies have the best chance of survival.

They have done this by working to raise awareness and fight for change within both the government and the NHS.
Another vital role it plays is providing new parents who have these babies with special packs which include information and help specifically for their needs.

Now the Foresters Friendly Society has joined Pampers and Abbott to become a sponsor of the Bliss ‘Going Home Pack’.

Going one step further, the society will even donate £50 to the charity for every one of their Child Tax Exempt Savings Plan opened.

The Bliss information packs only started to be given out in 2009, before then, new parents with a premature baby were not given information on how to look after their child once leaving hospital.

Spokesperson for Bliss, Caley Eldred said: “Our packs provide parents with essential advice and support on meeting the unique challenge of raising a premature or sick baby. It is great that our packs can give parents advice on their baby’s long term future, as well as just their short term needs. We’re very pleased to be working in partnership with Foresters Friendly Society as their support will enable us to continue our work caring for premature and sick babies and their families.”
