Only cool children will be spotted with an Anorak
Anorak magazine originally started as a hobby for mum, Cathy Olmedillas, who wanted to provide children with a platform to express themselves in a creative and positive way.
Many mums develop a hobby after having a baby in a desperate bid to regain control of their brains and stop it turning into mush. Some settle for something simple like knitting or joining park committees. This was never likely for someone who had previously been at The Face and Sleazenation.
The magazine is aimed at children aged between five and nine years, but its content and design will be of interest to anyone who loves quirky publications, great graphics and original storytelling through a variety of visual media.
The magazine is a fantastic work of art-house graphics, stories and life-style for a new breed of children. Rather like some people carry the Guardian to be seen carrying the Guardian, this is a cool magazine you will want your kids to read and have spotted in your bag on the latte run.
If you are a parent on the pulse, with children you regularly expose to art, theatre and embrace culture not found in the mainstream, then shame on you if you have not got your child a copy of Anorak magazine.
