Parents blame kids for stopping them exercising
Not wanting to ruin a fake tan, a new haircut, or simply being busy with the kids are some of the poor excuses parents come up with for getting out of doing some exercise.
Whilst the nation’s children are being blasted for being too porky, lazy, dopey or angry, parents themselves aren’t getting in on the fitness acts due to hangovers or even feeling a bit peckish.
A survey of more than 1000 people by LegMaster.com, found 12 per cent of parents blamed their reluctance to exercise solely on their children and family.
Founder of LegMaster.com, Neil Summers says: “We were surprised at the excuses people use to get out of regular exercise sessions but as a dad of five daughters I can fully appreciate that being a parent leaves very little, if any, time for yourself, let alone finding time to fit in regular exercise. However there are some ways to fit in exercising around your children, and depending on their age it may be something that you can make a fun part of family life. So children never really need to be a reason for not staying in shape.”
