Parents lie and cheat their children to go back to bed

Sleep is precious and parents will lie, act and connive their way into getting any precious extra time.

Web-Blinds.com, polled over 2,000 UK adults with young children, to find out the lengths they go to for extra time in the mornings.

A total of 71 per cent of parents in the South West outright lied to their child to make them go back to bed after waking too early.

The five most common ways to get children to comply were to bribe them, tell them it was still night time, Pretend to be asleep, warn them Father Christmas was watching or say the clocks had changed the previous night.
