Parents Manage to Claw a Maximum of 48 Minutes a day to Spend on Themselves
If you think it’s just you who is close to a breakdown by the time you go to bed in the evening, then take some solace from the fact that it’s not just you.
According to a study by Hello Fresh, parents aren’t getting around to putting their feet up until 8.53pm. Well the lucky ones anyway. And that’s probably just because they want to watch something on TV at 9pm.
The finding comes from a poll of 2000 parents who also claimed they managed to get 48 minutes of time to themselves a day.
Buying food for dinner, washing uniforms and helping children with their homework ate up most of the post school home time. Just one in ten people said it took them until gone 10pm to muddle through everything – you one in ten people are really not that alone in the matter.
Parents are spending 8 hours and 22 minutes every week on evening meals from the choosing, planning, buying eating to the final washing up.
Difficult working hours, being the parent taxi service and stressing about money were found to be the biggest time thieves.
