Parents missing out on free childcare this summer holiday

Parents could be missing out on tax free childcare which could pay for schemes running through the holidays.

The  Co-operative Childcare is urging parents to find out if they are entitled to claim up to £243 of vouchers each month which can be used to pay for any form of registered childcare for children up to the age of 16.

Working through a salary sacrifice scheme, the vouchers are non-tax deductible and National Insurance free and can be claimed by anyone with parental duties, even if the child is not resident.

The vouchers can be used for eligible summer camps, play schemes, childminders, nurseries, breakfast clubs and after-school clubs.
