Parents shy away from eggs due to calorie content
Cash rather than chocolate will be the gift for some children this year, as parents shy away from buying eggs.
According to more than 1,200 parents questioned by BabyChild.org.uk, 19 per cent won’t be giving their children Easter eggs.
Of these parents, 41 per cent were worried about the calorie content, and 23 per cent blamed the ‘hyperactivity’ chocolate causes.
Instead, cash, CDs or toys will be given as gifts, or in some unlucky cases, nothing at all.
