Parents spend more on their children’s clothes than their own
Cash may be tight in many houses across the country, but a survey has found that 47 per cent of mums clothes shop for their child once a week or more. They do this to make sure their tot is following the latest fashion.
The survey by Lakeside Shopping Centre, polled 1,000 women aged between 18 and 55.
Findings also showed that 94 per cent spend more on their child’s wardrobe than their own.
A total of 34 per cent of mums spend between £200 and £400 every year on their children’s clothes.
And, 25 per cent spend between £400 – £600.
A lucky 33 per cent would also splash out £100 or more on just one item of clothing they knew would be grown out of quickly.
