Planned road closures for Portway Bristol

Busy route into Bristol, the Portway will be closed during high tide periods for the next two days.

On Monday, the Portway flooded to around 200mm and more flooding of higher heights are expected.

The planned closures are:

Tuesday

Outbound closure of Portway between 07.30 – 0845 hrs

Inbound Portway at Sylvan Way: Lane closures or full closure ready to place if required.

On Tuesday evening, outbound closure of Portway 2015 – 2115 hrs

Wed am

Outbound closure of Portway between 0815 – 0930 hrs
Inbound Portway at Sylvan Way: Lane closures or full closure ready to place if required.

Outbound traffic will be diverted via Hotwells Road, Jacobs Wells Road, Whiteladies Road, Westbury Road, Parrys Lane, Shirehampton Road, Sylvan Way.

Inbound lanes may close but this decision will be taken on site at high tide.

Drivers are being advised to avoid the Portway for at high tide times between 07:30 to 09:00 am and at 12 hour intervals until Thursday morning when normal operation will resume.
