Planning deferred on new North Bristol school

Proposals for a new school facility in North Bristol have hit a further blow after a planning decision was deferred.

A new school was planned for the Brunel Field site next to the Gloucestershire County Cricket Club but a decision will not be made until a more detailed submission is made.

Councillor Clare Campion-Smith, Cabinet Member for Children and Young People, said: “It is disappointing that the decision was deferred. However, we will press on because we must. I have to keep at the forefront of my mind that we are creating new school places and doing it as speedily as we can to stop parents having the agonising wait that they had last year. Officers are looking at the plans in detail so we can gain consent and start work on site.”
