Poor television viewing wastes energy and money

A lack of family friendly television programmes are being blamed for wasted energy in British households.

A poll of 2,000 people by npower, found that there is an average of three televisions per household.

Around 26 per cent of families are watching the same show at the same time on these different setas and 46 per cent of people have no idea how much energy and money they are wasting by doing so.

The television is still an integral part of people’s lives, with 47 per cent putting it on just to keep them company.

Around four hours viewing per day appears to be the average, with 15 per cent of people popping it on first thing in the morning whilst they get ready, even though they don’t actually watch it.
