Primary school academy given the go-ahead on former St Ursula’s site
A new primary school academy on the site of the former St Ursula’s school has been given the go-ahead by the Department for Education.
The academy will initially provide 60 reception places when it opens in September 2011, gradually building into a 420 place school.
E-ACT, will be the sponsor for the new school, which will be their first in Bristol.
Bristol City Council Strategic Director for Children and Young People, Annie Hudson, said: “I’m delighted to welcome E-ACT to Bristol. They have a strong national track-record in supporting and sponsoring schools and will add to the diversity of education providers in the city. We are confident that E-ACT will work closely and collaboratively with existing local schools, and with us on admission arrangements.”
