Products for bottle feeding mothers
We recommend for mixed feeding…
Nuby Natural Touch bottles are a two step feeding system that is BPA free. The Step 1 soft silicone bottle allows you to assist with feeding by gently squeezing. The Step 2 bottle is for regular bottle feeding and can be used once your baby has an established, comfortable feeding pattern. Both bottles feature an anti colic breast size teat to mimic the mum’s natural shape, flex and movement.
Chopsy Baby editor Jen Smith says: “Despite the constant nagging that breast is always best, it simply isn’t true for every mother. Mixed feeding – using bottles and breast, formula and breast milk – can be a really effective compromise.”
We recommend for Colic…
Doctor Brown’s Natural Flow feeding system bottles, have saved the lives of many parents. In fact, a recent survey carried out by Consumer Analysis Ltd, found that the third most common way parents dealt with their baby’s colic was to change bottle brands. A 43 per cent of those parents that did so swapped to Doctor Brown’s fully vented and vacuum free bottles and never looked back.
Nearly half of UK babies suffer with colic in their early months, with constant crying, bringing knees into chest and beating fists common symptoms, particularly during the evenings.
London midwife Sherryann says: “When Dr Brown’s first came out, I went to a presentation about it. I then tried it on my newborn baby, who never developed any colic. So now it’s the only one I would recommend.”

We recommend for BPA free...
Despite the EU recently proposing to ban the potentially harmful chemical Bisphenol-A (BPA) from baby bottles in 2011, one baby-feeding company ditched the BPA from day one. BornFree launched in 2006 and was the first baby feeding company to be BPA free from the start.
BPA is a chemical used to make hard, clear plastic and commonly found in food and drink containers. But, medical studies have shown that BPA can affect the development of babies and young children, affecting their reproductive, neurological and immune systems.
The chemical has been completely banned in Canada and steps to ban it in the US are being taken. Until now, only the leaching of certain amounts of the chemical was allowed in the UK, but a new EU ruling next year could ban the substance from baby bottles across Europe.
BornFree products have always been 100% free from Phthalates, PVC and Bisphenol- A (BPA).
Managing Director of BornFree, Dirk Voller says: “Bisphenol-A or BPA as it is more commonly know is a chemical widely used in making hard, clear plastic and is commonly found inside food and drink containers such as canned goods, cartons and until recently most notably baby bottles. Many reports suggest that small amounts of BPA can leach into food or beverages stored in polycarbonate containers, especially when the contents are heated. It is thought that BPA mimics the effect of the hormone oestrogen in the body. It binds with oestrogen receptors, but does not replace the activity of the hormone, affecting reproductive, neurological and immune systems. Babies and growing children are particularly at risk from exposure because they are still undergoing many hormone-controlled developmental processes.
“Since 2006, BornFree were the first baby feeding company to be clear and open about its stance on BPA, having created a range that was free from the chemical from the start, paving the way and forcing competitors to follow suit. All BornFree products are and have always been 100 per cent free from Phthalates, PVC and Bisphenol- A (BPA). Many companies now produce BPA free bottles but BornFree® are proud to have been one of the original pioneers of manufacturing chemical free baby feeding products from the outset.”
Maternity nurse and baby consultant to the celebrities, Margarita Atieh, believes BornFree is a smart bottle choice for parents looking for a healthy option.
