Recipe competition and Flora Cuisine reviewed

Parents are being invited to submit recipes for potential inclusion in a new cook book being created by Flora Cuisine.

The new book ‘by mums for mums’ will aim to help parents create exciting, healthy and practical meals from scratch.

Mums have until June 24 to enter their recipes on Facebook.

The final book will be launched by Jean Christophe Novelli in November.

Flora Cuisine is a chilled cooking oil which can be used for frying, roasting and baking.

It is made with sunflower, linseed and rapeseed oils, which contain essential fats, omega 3 and 6.

Emma Touser tested out the oil for Chopsy Baby.

Emma says: “It’s strange having an oil that needs to go in the fridge rather than being chucked at the back of the cupboard. It taste a bit like Flora spread. You pour it in the frying pan and when it’s at the right temperature, it goes from a creamy colour to colourless. This is quite useful.

“I also liked that it didn’t spit everywhere. When I cook with normal oil I always end up getting burning spots of it on my arms. This didn’t spit at all. It was worth it for this.”

Available in the chilled aisle of supermarkets nationwide.
