REVIEW: From Milton the Milton Mini Portable Soother Steriliser and Solo Travel Sterliser
Sterilising babies bottles is something that is recommended up until your child reaches their first baby.
To help you keep on top of this when travelling with young babies this summer, Milton has two great products that will help keep baby bottles and dummies clean.
Chopsy Baby Editor, Jen Smith says: “I remember travelling with young babies well. All the formula, bottles and other bits of equipment that had to be taken despite having to pack lightly.
“Some seven years ago, there just wasn’t anything on the market that was any good. But I was especially impressed with the Milton Solo Travel Steriliser. It’s compact, taking up very little space and best of all, you have the flexibility of using this as a microwave or cold water steriliser.”
As well as being able to sterilise single bottles, it is also suitable for other small items such as plastic toys and teethers.
It takes just 2 minutes to use in the microwave and 15 minutes with the cold water and tablet method. The bottle, or other item remains sterile inside the container for 24 hours.
Kendra Aldrich, was really pleased to test this product out for Chopsy Baby during a week-long camping break.
Kendra says: “Camping and holiday don’t really go well together when you have a four month old. But I was really pleased to have found this product. There isn’t much around to sterilise bottles on the go. The options I did look at were so fiddly. I was trying to figure out a way to take my microwave with me. Very pleased that didn’t happen. I will be buying at least another one if not two of these bottles for a longer break next month. I used them as cold water sterilisers and they worked brilliantly. I really cannot sing the praises highly enough.”

When Sarah Wilmott agreed to test out the Milton Mini Portable Soother Steriliser for Chopsy Baby, she was a little sceptical, telling us it looked like one of those useless pieces of baby equipment that will live in a drawer for three years.
“But I was totally wrong,” she admitted to us just a week later.
Sarah Says: “I really wasn’t impressed on first look and my three week old baby Isla is also my fourth child. There’s nothing precious first born about me anymore.
“Isla is always spitting out her dummy by accident. At her age, and due to some of her health considerations, I don’t really want dirty dummies going back into her mouth. I have to admit that the portable steriliser has been really useful.
“I make it up in the morning before I leave and put the spare dummy in there. Then I swap them over as necessary. It only takes a quarter of an hour until the next one is ready again.
“The whole device is really robust and I leave it strapped to the pram. Even when I fold it up to get on the train.
“I do have to eat my words here, this has been a really useful item.”
