It’s the perfect rainy day or off school sick book.

There is plenty in this book to educate through stealth as well as entertain with games.

Young readers can learn the quick facts about lots of different aircraft, the basic principles of flight and how aircraft stay in the air.

Included with the book are small cardboard models to put together and paper versions that can be taken straight out of the book.

To engage youngsters with the fun and science, simple instructions covering good ‘throwing techniques’ will help them get their creations airborne.

Jen Says: “I was incredibly impressed with this book. The paper plane tear outs at the back are brilliant because you can make really good paper replicas with the minimum of fuss.

“The hard cardboard models on the front were also good fun to make with my son while he was off  school following an accident. In fact, this is the perfect hospital book for marooned children.

“What I liked best was the book being a springboard for scientific creativity and learning. When a plane didn’t work how he expected, Sid set about making ‘improvements’ to the design by changing wing shape to see what difference it would make.”
