Royal Academy of Dance Programme of Children’s Summer Dance Events

The Royal Academy of Dance has a programme of summer dance events for kids across the UK.

Boys Ballet Masterclass (Birmingham) – 2nd July

Ages 7+

No prior dancing experience required.

A high-tempo workshop for male students focusing on male ballet technique and choreography, and led by a male teacher.

The Lion King Musical Theatre Workshop (Cornwall) – 2nd July

Ages 7-17

No prior singing or dancing experience required.

Sing and dance to the music and choreography inspired by this West End sensation. Each workshop closes with a performance for parents and guardians.

Boys Only! (Hampshire) – 8th July

Ages 8-18

Suitable for beginners and those with some dance experience in any style.

Boys Only! in partnership with The Point, is a high-energy, two-day workshop full of creativity, led by experienced male teachers. Bring a friend and enjoy energising contemporary warm-up classes and creative dance sessions combined with athletic ballet classes to build your coordination, strength and alignment. Classes are led by male teachers alongside dancers from the all-male ZoieLogic Dance Theatre.

The weekend finishes with a presentation for parents and guardians, and a Q&A with your teachers.

Summer Schools (London) – 17th July

Ages 8-18

Level RAD Grade 2+

Develop your skills while trying out new dance styles in this action-packed week.

Summer Schools (Darlington) – 24th July

Ages 8-18

Level RAD Grade 2+

Darlington Summer School is a fun way to develop your technique and learn new dance skills in a variety of styles, and in a beautiful setting. The week closes with an open day to celebrate your achievements.

Choreographic Masterclass (Birmingham) – 27th July

Ages 7-16

At least one year of dance experience.

Refine your creative skills in this two-day workshop working with a professional tutor to choreograph a unique dance especially for your group. The workshop closes with a performance for parents and guardians.
