Santa Still Used as Parenting Technique

Santa is still the Bad Guy in UK homes, with parents using him as a way of encouraging young children to behave themselves.

In fact, Santa has become such an important method of managing children’s behaviour that 23 per cent of mums and dads start bringing him in as a threat in November.

Clearly some parents need a parenting course, with 8 per cent resorting to using the Santa not coming threat all year around.

More than 1000 parents took part in the survey carried out by One4all. The results also revealed that festive traditions are still important on the Big Night.

A 60 per cent left out mince pies for Father Christmas, 49 per cent popped out snacks for the reindeer and 49 per cent of families visit a Santa grotto.
