St. Michael on the Mount Church Bristol

St. Michael on the Mount (Without) is an imposing church located at the bottom of gradient tiring St. Michael’s Hill in Central Bristol.

The church was closed in 1999, and has suffered from vandalism and squatters until eventually, a huge fire in October 2016 gutted much of the place. Aspects of the Grade II* listed building date from the 15th century and it’s currently on the Buildings at Risk Register.

If you are looking for a quiet and peaceful place to sit with a coffee away from the BRI, this is lovely in good weather. Actually, it’s lovely in bad weather too if you fancy a stroll around.

The Workhouse Kitchen on the corner of Perry Road have tables and benches outside of the church for customers to sit.
