Sunflower Lanyard Bristol:

A sunflower lanyard which aims to support shoppers with invisible disabilities has been introduced by M&S into all of its stores, including Broadmead in Bristol.

The sunflower lanyard scheme is worn by those with hidden disabilities as a discreet signal to store staff that they may need additional support with their shopping. The scheme is already being used by other businesses including Sainsbury’s and Bristol Airport.

Autism, dementia, sensory processing difficulties, visual and hearing impairments are some of the invisible disabilities which can make shopping a challenging experiencing and for whom the lanyard is aimed.

Sunflower lanyards can be collected for free from the Food Order desk in large M&S stores.
