More Than Half of UK Parents Spend Thousands of Hours Per Year on Child Admin

If more than half of UK parents are spending over 2000 hours a year on the admin having a child entails, then spare a thought for those going through the Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) process. That’s a full time job.

According to a poll of 1000 parents by Epson’s EcoTank, 58 per cent spend up to three hours on paperwork for school, hobbies, clubs, healthcare and other childcare tasks every day.

A 76 per cent of those taking part said they didn’t realise exactly how much admin organisation was necessary before having children, with 55 per cent feeling overwhelmed with it all.

And if they think this is bad, bear in mind parents with a child who has special educational frequently eye up the prices of photocopiers on eBay.
