The Way to Outer Space by Jay Eunji Lee – Review
This unique book blends fiction with craft activities creating imaginative play opportunities in an early years comic strip style.
Bored Em, receives a book which helps her to make a rocket with which she can explore the galaxy.
The illustrated instructions are easy to follow and mainly utilise the kind of things that are lying around the house.
It’s especially nice to see things like labelled planets as she flies past.
Other activities include creating alien friends and simple origami stars.
It’s surprisingly clever and also a refreshing change, standing out from other children’s titles turfed out throughout the year.
