Things to do with Babies and Children in Central Bristol – Bristol Zoo

Strictly speaking, Bristol Zoo is up in Clifton on The Downs and not Central Bristol. But for the BS1/2 dweller, the zoo is a quick trip on the number 8 bus and a marvellous day out. We’ve found the best way to get value for money from zoo trips is to become Annual Members.

It doesn’t take many trips for the membership to pay for itself. Plus you can pop in and out for a couple of hours on a boring afternoon without it feeling like it has to be an appreciated epic trip. Being members, you also quickly work out which are the quieter times to visit and there are benefits such as 50 per cent of on selected Mondays for members’ guests.

On our visit today, we had a magical time in the penguin section when a group of penguins (official collective noun anyone?) were fascinated by the people watching and kept coming down to people watch.
