Traffic Bristol Anchor Road and Hotwell Road 14 January 2019

Roadworks Bristol:

One of Bristol’s busiest roads will be subject to roadworks from Monday 14 January 2019.

A new inbound bus lane which will be shared with other ‘authorised’ road users is going to be built along Anchor Road.

The work is anticipated to take around five months to complete and though will impact on road users during completion, it is believed the work will result in improved journey times and bus times in the future.

“This is one of the city’s busiest commuter routes and it’s important that this work takes place to improve bus journey time and reliability,” Marvin Rees, Mayor of Bristol says.

“It is only by offering an alternative that we will reduce congestion and air pollution. The work is part of the Better Bus Area Fund which aims to improve and increase the use of public transport in Bristol”.

Alternative routes will be signposted around affected areas, with more travel info available at: travelwest.info/betterbusarea

The council says it will enhance cycling and walking routes, make bus travel ‘easier and more attractive’ and ‘improve safety and air quality’.
