Two daughters the easiest combination of children

A study looking into the ideal gender combination of children has found a family with two girls is easiest.

According to findings by parenting club Bounty, two girls will play nicely together and are ‘generally a pleasure to be around’.

Parents taking part in Bounty’s research said that two girls rarely annoy them with too much noise or wind each other up.

But parents with four daughters were the least happiest with family life and fine it card to cope with their fights.

Spokesperson for Bounty.com, Faye Mingo said: “The mums and dads we polled obviously dearly love their children, but those with bigger families find it much harder to keep the peace on a daily basis.”

The study took into consideration twelve different combinations of children from 2,116 families with more than one child.

Parents who had four children admitted finding it hard to share their attention fairly, with one or more children neglected at times.
The second most harmonious family set up was one boy and one girl, with parents saying they rarely argued over belongings.

The only problem found with having a child of each gender was that the children didn’t share interests as they grew older.

Bounty found the third easiest combination of children was two boys.
