UK charity Short Lives releases films to help parents through their child’s life-shortening condition
A UK charity aiming to help parents deal with a child suffering from a life-shortening condition have released a series of films to highlight their support.
Knowing what support is available to them and knowing they are not alone are important messages to get across, charity Short Lives believes.
The three films feature two parents sharing their personal experiences.
Practice and Service Development Manager for Together for Short Lives, Julia Hodgson says: “Families caring for a seriously ill child often feel isolated and alone. Being an expert in your own child’s care doesn’t mean you are an expert at navigating the complex children’s palliative care system. The Together for Families Freephone Helpline and advocacy service offers much needed information, help and support to families caring for children with life-shortening conditions and our family community helps families feel connected.”
