Uncool mobile phones leads to school bullying

Despite being banned from most classrooms, mobile phones are one of the main causes of bullying in schools.

According to nearly 2,000 UK parents, 82 per cent have a child who has been bullied.

When questioned further, 57 per cent revealed the bullying was to do with their child’s physical appearance, 48 because their mobile phone was not ‘cool’ enough and 31 per cent for being poor at sports.

The findings by  GoodMobilePhones.co.uk, showed that not only was having the wrong phone a source of bullying, but the harassment was exacerbated by social networking and mobile texting.

Managing Director of GoodMobilePhones, Mark Owen said: “It’s astonishing how many parents have children that have been bullied at school, and this is just a survey of 2,000 people. The rise of technology, including mobile phones and the internet, has meant many bullies continue to bully their victims outside of school.”
