Vitamin D does not boost children’s brainpower researchers say

Vitamin D does not seem to boost kids’ brainpower, according to research published online in the Journal of Epidemiology and Community Health.

Though previous research has linked higher levels of vitamin D with enhanced brainpower, researchers from the Bristol Avon Longitudinal Study of Parents and Children (ALSPAC) say otherwise.

The researchers’ findings come from studying data from more than 3,000 children and their academic performance in English, maths, and science between the ages of 13 and 14, and again between the ages of 15 and 16 in terms of grades obtained in GCSE exams.
