Wales Millennium Centre remains the most visited attraction in Wales 2011

The Wales Millennium Centre has just been named the top visitor attraction in Wales for the fifth year in a row.
Situated on the Cardiff Rift and until recently a stones throw from the previous Doctor Who exhibition, it is no wonder the famous landmark is a popular place to visit.
The number of visitors entering the centre – excluding performances – reached 1,046,958 in 2011.
In second place was Swansea’s LC (Leisure Centre) and third place St Fagans National History Museum.
A total of 15.8 million people visited 214 attractions, with 57 per cent of the total visits being made at free attractions.
Further statistics from the visitwales.co.uk study showed a total of 48 per cent of visits were made by local people, with 44 per cent from the rest of the UK and 8 per cent from overseas.
